LocationURANIA CEE🧡NEMA

Vienna is about so much more than waltzes and opera. The city thrives on its voices, its stories and the people who shape it. With its summer series ‘Sound of Vienna’, URANIA CEE🧡NEMA invites you on a special cinematic journey of discovery through the Austrian capital.

Nine extraordinary films showcase Vienna from a wide variety of perspectives: behind the scenes at major cultural institutions, in the rehearsal rooms of the music scene, in the suburban pubs, on the city’s stages and through the life stories of its residents. From the Vienna Symphony Orchestra to Falco and Peter Alexander, right through to contemporary voices such as Voodoo Jürgens or the protagonists of VIENNA CALLING, a multi-layered portrait emerges of a city that uniquely blends tradition and the present.

The series takes the audience to famous landmarks and hidden spots, telling stories of artistic passion, big dreams, social change, and that unmistakable Viennese wit. Whether a documentary, music film, biopic, historical film, or tragicomedy – each film offers a fresh perspective on Vienna and invites viewers to rediscover the city beyond the cinema.

Thanks to English subtitles, ‘Sound of Vienna’ is equally suitable for Viennese residents and international visitors alike. And whilst the summer heat shimmers outside, the fully air-conditioned URANIA CEE🧡NEMA offers the ideal setting for a cinematic journey through one of Europe’s most fascinating cultural capitals.
