Aardman Animation

Filmmaker Bady Minck met Aardman mastermind Nick Park at the Annecy Animation Festival and, in collaboration with the distributor Polyfilm, brought their early short films to local cinemas in the 1990s. The subsequent success of the Wallace & Gromit duo marked the international breakthrough for these clay-animation filmmakers, and soon other Aardman gems—joining the repository of their rare early works—were added to our collection. The celebrated trilogy of Wallace & Gromit short-film triumphs (“A Grand Day Out”, “The Wrong Trousers”, “A Close Shave”) was later joined by lovingly crafted feature films, starting with the debut “Chicken Run” (2000), followed by “Wallace & Gromit: The Curse of the Were-Rabbit” (2005), the (at the time) underrated DreamWorks collaboration “Flushed Away” (2006), and the masterpiece “The Pirates!” (2012). All of them irresistibly combine quintessentially British humor with a unique inventiveness in animation.
