Zwei Himmelhunde auf dem Weg zur Hölle / Più forte, ragazzi!

The pilots Salud (Bud Spencer) and Plata (Terence Hill) make a living in South America mainly from crash landings: insurance fraud brings in more money than the meager transport. After an emergency landing in the jungle, they meet emerald miners - and take on the monopolist Mr. Ears (Reinhard Koldehoff), who has an economic stranglehold on the area. The powerful duo Bud Spencer and Terence Hill became successful with western comedies. Two Heavenly Dogs on the Road to Hell brought the brilliant team from mythical realms to the present for the first time: a major work that defined the formula for their escape adventures. It demonstrated unique qualities, for example with its accurate character drawing and a believable social-romantic background, which grounds the slapstick with moving details: "I can't get enough of your mountain of shit!" The German dubbed version (dialogue directed by Rainer Brandt) is the longest of the series existing versions of the film. (Christoph Huber)
