Zoe & Sturm – Mein Traum vom Reiten
Unwaveringly, 12-year-old Zoé has set her sights on a life on Sturm's back. She and her impetuous mare, loved above all else, were finally born on the same night, right next to each other, and have long been inseparable. But when a violent storm hits the seaside stud farm one evening, Zoé is so badly injured trying to free Sturm and the other horses from their stalls that she will never be able to use her legs again and, it seems, never ride again. While Zoé is also mentally paralysed, her parents' stud farm slides visibly into bankruptcy. Her father, a gifted trotting jockey, has handed over their lifelong dream to a rich American, who is now gripped by the desire to make a profit and is speculating race after race with the breeding horses on the betting exchange. But in the face of Zoé's suffering, her parents cannot possibly give up. Having reached rock bottom, the three of them cautiously find their way to each other and a new familiarity. Zoé fights her way back into life to dare the impossible with "Sturm", who has always been faithful to her: a life as a female jockey.
