Words with Gods / Book of Amos
Amos Gitai's contribution to Words with Gods consists of a long shot in which verses from the eponymous book of Amos, part of the Hebrew Bible, are recited. While the protagonists recite visionary texts, soldiers fight in the background, cars burn, and finally a heavy rain shower falls on the steadfast prophets in modern clothing. Amos Gitai: ‘Culture only acquires meaning in the deeper sense of the word when it expresses criticism.’ (T. W.)
