Wild at Heart
Sailor and Lula are passionately in love. Sailor is a young man on the fringes of society, never taking off his snakeskin jacket—a symbol of his “individuality and personal freedom.” Lula is a delicate young woman under the oppressive rule of her monstrous mother, Marietta. Unable to tolerate their bond, Marietta sends one of her henchmen to eliminate Sailor. Sailor survives the confrontation but ends up in prison.
Two years later, he reunites with Lula, and the two flee their past together. Their car becomes the setting for a long journey to Big Tuna, Texas. Determined to see Sailor dead, Marietta sends two of her lovers in pursuit. Along the way, Sailor and Lula encounter numerous obstacles and a host of fascinating characters on their journey.
