Wienerinnen – Schrei nach Liebe

Five stories of unhappy love, jealousy and the suffering of young women in post-war Vienna. The first episode is set in a brick factory and its tenement barracks. The surroundings are bleak and Steinwendner knows how to translate this into impressive images. But it doesn't stay that bleak. WIENERINNEN is able to change its tone again and again: Behind the brittle aesthetics, at least a kind of hope is revealed. (Florian Widegger)
