Wien, du Stadt der Lieder
This was Richard Oswald's first sound film. Despite its capacity of almost 1,800 people, the Berlin Universum was sold out every day. The director declared: ‘Silent film? It's dead.’ According to Film-Kurier, the entire studio was singing and ringing – the silence of the screen had died a slow but sure death. Morgan spoke with Max Ehrlich in the film's opening credits and played the master tailor Pokorny.
