Wenn ein Garten wächst

The feature-length cinema documentary "When a garden grows" tells the story of the cheerful adventure of a group of neighbours in Kassel who, without any special previous knowledge but with a lot of courage and motivation, successfully transform a bland, urban lawn into a public garden oasis in the middle of the city.
None of the neighbours are trained gardeners, but they try things out, ask questions, make mistakes, learn from them and open up a new world through their community garden, which also offers new horizons in terms of thinking.
The community garden on Kassel's Huttenplatz is a complete success for them and for the neighbourhood. But the hustle and bustle of growing vegetables does not meet with the approval of the authorities. Maintaining the garden becomes a labour of love.
