FromStan Brakhage, Owen Land, Paul Sharits

Year1996

Duration90min.

LanguageGerman

In 1996, Peter Kubelka created the cyclical programme What is Film to mark the centenary of cinema. According to Kubelka, the programme ‘uses examples to define film as an independent art form, as a tool that conveys new ways of thinking. Young filmmakers and all those who take a serious look at the medium of film are thus offered a basic overview in 63 programmes.’

The book accompanying the cycle - What is Film: Peter Kubelka's Cyclical Programme at the Austrian Film Museum - is available at the box office of the Film Museum at a special price of 9 euros.
