Wätterschmöcker
Three films that deal with the constantly changing, largely unpredictable phenomena of the Alps that significantly shape the lives of mountain farmers. Mainly the weather is meant. Thunderstorms, snow, drought - all these determine when and how work can be done. In his affectionate documentary about the traditional Innerschwyzer meteorologists, Thomas Horat shows a method that predicts the weather in close dialogue with nature, from the movements of animals and plants. Arnold Fanck and Elke Groen dedicate themselves to a sensual survey of this natural space. It is ultimately a matter of turning to the spectacle of this indescribable landscape, as unfathomable as it is essential for survival. (Patrick Holzapfel)
