Voyage to Nowhere
Spain, mid-20th century: Carlos Galván, a comedian in a retirement home, remembers his old days as a travelling actor in front of a psychologist. He and his family travelled through the villages and small towns of Castile, performing a simple repertoire of works on every stage, no matter how improvised. But then they faced overwhelming competition: film and television conquered Spain and robbed audiences of their time for the theatre. EL VIAJE A NINGUNA PARTE shows how film and other new media have always meant technological progress and cultural loss at the same time.
