Voodoo Spirits: Die Kraft des Heilens

VOODOO SPIRITS is a journey to Benin, the motherland of the voodoo cult, to the origins and various aspects of a religion that remains largely unknown to outsiders.

Together with ethnologist and photographer Henning Christoph, Othmar Schmiderer filmed and directed the various rituals. After differences of opinion with the producers, Schmiderer stepped down as director during the final production, although the basic structure of the film was retained, but one aspect that was essential for Schmiderer could no longer be realised.
