Vienna Shorts: Live: Sophie Watzlawick & Billy Roisz
Sensory live experiences in the cinema: While Sophie Watzlawick’s where night falls a thud will be presented in two live variations by Leonel Kaplan (trumpet) and noid (cello), Billy Roisz’s Lunar Dust, accompanied by Dieter Kovačič aka dieb13 (turntables), takes us on an immersive journey. Both half-hour performances share an interdisciplinary approach that foregrounds the exploration of perception and spatiality. These works open up spaces for alternative, non-linear forms of seeing and listening—offering new ways to engage with complex emotional experiences. (ck)
