Vienna Shorts: Another Country

From HEAST to HABĀ, our most political program this year is not just topical but also transcendent: each of the films discovers poetry in the often grim circumstances of the modern world, helping us make sense of the disorienting, overwhelming daily flux. HEAST and World at Stake do so with a smile on their cheeky faces, perpetrating clever acts of technological détournement. Night of Passage and HABĀ take a more downbeat (but accessible) approach to harrowing material, while letters from home poignantly triangulates between joy and despair, individuals and communities.
