VELOŠACH (BIKECHESS)

As a television journalist, Dina has to report favourably on precisely staged events every day: for example, the press conference of a highly decorated professor on the origins of humanity in Kazakhstan or the presentation of a new sport - cycling chess. Dina's queer sister, on the other hand, demonstrates against the very system that is stabilised by Dina's work. Assel Aushakimova describes the absurd excesses of press work in a propaganda regime with dry humour and flair - as in her short film TOVARIŠČ POLICEJSKIJ (COMRADE POLICEMAN, IFFI #33).
