Valentin

The affable priest Valentin "Voitl" Pfeifenberger from Zederhaus was revered as the "Bishop of Lungau". During his lifetime, he was probably best known for the Palmesel and Georgi rides. Valentin Pfeifenberger was characterised above all by his courage to disregard certain church regulations. His selfless pastoral care and his winning and unconventional nature made him famous among the people of the Salzburg region.

Using interviews, unpublished historical film footage and scenes re-enacted by lay people, Salzburg director Thomas Mayer impressively traces the life of the priest in his film debut.
