Up-Serie: 35 Up

It's no longer just the children from back then who give information in front of the camera; their current partners are also present. This is not least changing the imbalance in representation in favour of female positions. Not all relationships last. For women like Sue, who can no longer work full-time alone with two children, this means economic decline. John is back, but there are other notable absences - after Charles, Peter now seems to have left permanently, and Symon is also missing. Neil has now found a permanent home in a council house in the northernmost part of the country, on the Shetland Islands, and is enjoying minor success with an amateur theatre company. Claire Lewis, first involved in 28 Up as a "researcher", now acts as producer and keeps in touch between the shoots, which take place every seven years. (M.B. / N.K. / I.R.)
