Unternehmen Xarifa

Hass' third and final cinema adventure - the first German-language Technicolor film - takes him to the Caribbean, where secrets and dangers await him and his expedition members, including his wife Lotte of course, beneath the surface of the water. Due to the immense production effort involved, Hass is unable to shoot a pure documentary, but has to enrich the plot with scenes of action. The footage of the funeral of cameraman Jimmy Hodges on Bonaire, who died during filming, is not acted. The film is dedicated to him as a testimony to his courage.
