Tza’ad Revi’l La’mabe’a (Description of a Memory)

*Description of a Memory* by Dan Geva enters into a dialogue with the film *Markers*. The images and sounds of *Markers* have haunted Geva ever since he first saw it at the age of 12. Now, they become the catalyst for an essayistic search for "insignificant details" in a dystopian-present: the swearing-in of IDF soldiers at the Western Wall, the evacuation of national-religious Jewish settlements in Gaza, the expropriation of Palestinian olive groves in the West Bank, "Occupation Tourism"… The search for the protagonists from *Description of a Struggle* reveals that their hopes were unfulfilled. The inner struggle seems decided, and in *Markers*, an unrealized future is encapsulated.
