Tuve el corazón (I had the Heart)
As a young man, Moti Cohen was a famous rock producer who scored a massive hit with the song “Tuve el corazón.” But now Moti is completely frustrated, divorced, barely sees his son, and gets by with odd jobs for the Jewish community in Buenos Aires. When his car breaks down one day, he ends up at Bartolo’s garage. To Moti’s surprise, the stuttering mechanic has an undiscovered talent — he is a brilliant tango singer. Sensing a comeback, Moti throws himself headfirst into the vibrant world of tango with renewed hope. But how can he persuade the shy and nervous Bartolo to sing in front of an audience?
This inspiring musical comedy about the charming antihero Moti, who is given a second chance in life, is filled with dry humor and sharp, witty dialogue. Filmmaker and professional tango dancer Oliver Kolker not only directs this homage to Argentina’s musical culture but also plays the lead role himself.
