Eleven-year-old Keria lives in a town on the island of Borneo. Her father works on a palm oil plantation. One day, Keria and her father see loggers killing a mother orangutan. They rescue the baby orangutan and take it home.
At the same time, Selaï, Keria's younger cousin, seeks shelter with them. Selaï is supposed to go to school in the town, but also to be kept safe from the conflict between the timber companies and his family, who belong to the Penan tribe. However, Selaï returns to the jungle after an argument with Keria and the baby monkey ‘Oshi’ follows him. When Keria sets off in search of them, the adventure of the three begins.

Together, Keria, Selaï and the baby monkey fight against the destruction of the rainforest and the Penan's habitat, which is more threatened than ever. But for Keria, this fight will also be an opportunity to learn the truth about her family.

After ‘Ma vie de Courgette’, this is the second stop-motion animation film by Claude Barras.
