A sophisticated horror film that explores the questions of closeness and distance in a relationship in a whole new way.
Millie and Tim have been a couple for many years. When they move from New York to a remote house in the countryside, they leave everything familiar behind – except each other. While exploring the surrounding forest, they are surprised by a storm and have to spend the night in an eerie cave. The next morning, they notice the first disturbing changes in themselves. Panicked, the two try to stop the transformation, because the physical change process not only affects their bodies, but becomes a nightmare that threatens their entire existence.
