THIS IS NOT A LOST FILM is a cinema concert featuring Khavn's so-called THE LOST FILM TRILOGY, which consists of FILIPINIANA (2016), ASWANG (1933) (2017), JUAN TAMAD GOES TO THE MOON (1898) (2018), including an excerpt from NITRATE: TO THE GHOSTS OF THE 75 LOST PHILIPPINE SILENT FILMS (1912-1933) (2013). Filipino silent film research has not yet been able to determine with certainty whether these are genuine, recently discovered treasures from the earliest phase of Philippine cinema, which Khavn shamelessly appropriated and used for his questionable purposes, or whether they are complete forgeries staged by Khavn. Either way, they deliver a spectacle full of incredible images (and unusual sounds), featuring the first Filipino silent film, the first Filipino horror film and the first Filipino science fiction film, predating Georges Méliès' LE VOYAGE DANS LA LUNE by a full three years! With a concert by Khavn & Babel Gun! (Jurij Meden)
