Théo & Hugo
Paris, early in the morning: In the deep red light of a sex club, the bodies of Théo and Hugo meet. One look, and they desire only each other.
After having sex, they leave the club together, start walking without a destination, and talk about the beauty of penises, about sensory intoxication, and about great love. Until one detail throws the wild romance between them off balance…
“Théo & Hugo” was filmed entirely on original locations and unfolds in real time: after the furious and highly explicit opening sequence, the camera follows the characters through the streets of an almost deserted Paris. Directing duo Olivier Ducastel and Jacques Martineau, who previously worked together on the gay classics “Felix” (2000) and “My Real Life in the Country” (2002), achieved one of the surprise hits of this year’s Berlinale with “Théo & Hugo” and received the Teddy Audience Award.
