Joanna Hogg's sequel picks up the thread right where THE SOUVENIR ends: Film student Julie struggles with grief and shock in the aftermath of Anthony's death. On the one hand, there are her loving, almost too caring parents, from whom she doesn't really feel understood. And on the other, her fellow students, who struggle to follow the theory of what she wants to express in practice with her graduation film.
