The Second Golden Age: Challenges of Love
In a small Hungarian town, two women move in together as a couple, quickly sparking rumors and igniting resistance. Tensions escalate when a reading is announced from the book *A Fairy Tale for Everyone*, where two princes fall in love, Cinderella is portrayed as Roma, and the Snow Queen is a lesbian character. The small town seethes with unrest, and the atmosphere becomes increasingly hostile.
The film is based on true events and addresses the growing queerphobia in contemporary Hungary, fueled by government measures and discriminatory laws. A feature film by and for activists, it encourages standing up for LGBTQIA+ rights and not leaving public discourse to the patriarchy. In short, thank you, thank you, thank you for this vibrant “message of courage and hope” (as described by the director).
