The Place Beyond the Pines

Luke is a motorcycle stuntman and a taciturn loner. He earns his living at a funfair with which he moves from town to town. Avery Cross is an ambitious small-town cop who tries to distract himself from his family problems by rapidly climbing the career ladder - no matter what the cost. One day, when Luke reunites with his one-night stand Romina, he learns that he has become a father. Luke decides to take responsibility for his son - in his own way: with the help of redneck mechanic Robin, he starts robbing banks - relying on his driving skills. During the robberies, he acts more and more brazenly, until one day a coup goes wrong and Luke has to take refuge in a house, where he is confronted by the policeman Avery Cross...
