The Old Oak

"The Old Oak" is the story of a village in the North East of England where the mine has closed and the people feel let down by the system. Many young people have moved away and the once thriving, proud community struggles to keep old values alive. But the anger, resentment and hopelessness are growing. Houses are cheap and available. This makes the city an ideal location for the Syrian refugees that the UK has taken in over the last few years. How will the Syrians be received? And what does the future hold for the last remaining pub in the village, The Old Oak?
