The Newton Boys

The Newton brothers are four boys from Texas. Together with their friend Brentwood Glasscock (Dwight Yoakam), they have gone off the rails and have been robbing one bank after another since 1919. As they are extremely successful, they don't even think about stopping the robberies. They always follow one line: people are not killed in their coups.

For Willis (Matthew McConaughey), the leader of the gang, the robberies are not a crime at all, as he considers the insurance companies and banks to be the much bigger and true criminals.

In 1924, the gang pulls off their biggest coup. They robbed a train just outside Chicago and took the incredible sum of three million dollars. As this robbery caused an enormous stir, they could no longer stay in the USA and therefore moved to Toronto in Canada. But although the young men believe they are safe there, the noose around their necks tightens ever tighter...
