The Legend of the Vagabond Queen of Lagos

“The Legend of the Vagabond Queen of Lagos” is a production by the Nigerian Agbajowo Collective.
The film tells the story of Jawu (Temiloluwa Ami-Williams), a woman who must decide whether to save herself or defend her community while facing corrupt government actions and violent hired killers. The film addresses the harsh reality of so-called waterfront communities in Lagos—essentially floating slums—whose very existence is threatened by the greed of politicians and investors.
