The Human Monster, also known as The Strangler, is a British film adaptation of an Edgar Wallace novel from 1939 starring Bela Lugosi, who, as so often in his career, plays a ruthless criminal.

A dead body washes up on the banks of the Thames. It is the last of five bodies that have recently been found floating in London's docks. The police are at a loss. The seemingly charitable Dr. Orloff (played by Bela Lugosi) runs a polyclinic for the blind in London, which serves as a cover for insurance fraud.

A hair-raising, dark crime film with elements of horror.

Afterwards, fantasy novelist and film expert Michael Blihall will chat with Michael Westphal from the Austrian Analogue Archive about exciting and interesting facts about The Human Monster and Bela Lugosi!
