The French Dispatch
"The French Dispatch" is a magazine that belongs to the newspaper "Liberty, Kansas Evening Star" and is based in the fictitious French town of Ennui-sur-Blasé. It was started by Arthur Howitzer Jr. who still runs the magazine today and employs many talented contributors - and a few who hardly contribute anything. When Howitzer Jr. died, the magazine was discontinued - according to the founder's will. But first the last issue is printed. In it, three major reports can be found. The first is about the prison-bound murderer Moses Rosenthaler, who is quite gifted with a paintbrush and thus attracts the attention of the art dealer Julian Cadazio. The second is all about the young revolutionary Zeffirelli, who begins an affair with the journalist Lucinda Krementz. The last report was originally supposed to be about the famous chef Nescafier. But when the commissaire's son is kidnapped, journalist Roebuck Wright's plans change.
