The European Grandma Project

For this polyphonic oral history film project, several filmmakers in different countries interviewed their grandmothers about their lives (and loves). The result is nine interwoven, deeply personal stories that reflect a mosaic of European history. ‘You can feel the great trust in their granddaughters when the nine women open up in front of the camera. With melancholy, pain and humour, they talk about the tragedies of war and tell personal anecdotes of love and everyday life.’ (This Human World)
