CROWRÃ: The Buriti Flower

A film not only about, but with the Krahô, an indigenous population group living in north-eastern Brazil. Immersive, sensitive 16mm footage shows connections across generations: traumatic memories of white violence are processed with visually impressive elements - fire and earth, as well as evocative singing. The threats never cease, so the Krahô are constantly developing their resistance. In 2022, the community is debating whether it makes sense to take part in the major indigenous protests against Bolsonaro's government in Brasília.
