Koichi Nishi: “It’s not easy to hate evil. You have to stoke your own fury until you become evil yourself.”

Nishi (Toshirô Mifune) marries into a powerful corporation, but behind the company’s polite façade lies a system of corruption and violence. The death of his father, officially ruled a suicide, is in fact the result of a ruthless power struggle that reaches into the highest levels of bureaucracy. Nishi begins to observe those responsible, study their routines, and search for their weaknesses.

As he carries out his plan for revenge, it becomes clear how deeply moral decay has seeped into the company’s structures. Every attempt to bring the truth to light is smothered by a web of loyalty, threats, and silence. Nishi’s personal struggle becomes a mirror of a society that is modernizing after the war but cannot escape its shadows.
