Terminator 2: Judgement Day
A recurring nightmare of doomsday as global nuclear war provides the key to this action-packed cyberpunk extravaganza: Sarah Connor (Linda Hamilton) dreams of the end of the world, while a malevolent artificial intelligence sends a shape-shifting liquid metal killing machine (Robert Patrick) back in time to kill her teenage son John Connor (Edward Furlong), the future leader of the rebellion. The resistance fighters of the future have mobilized an older Terminator model (Arnold Schwarzenegger) to protect John and keep the future of humanity open. The most expensive movie of its time created a computer-generated protagonist as an almost invincible villain, a teenage rebel who teaches a machine humanity; and a machine that realizes it will never become human.
