Tearing Walls Down

Opposition politicians in Turkey who fight against the policy of violence and repression have been deposed, persecuted or imprisoned by the anti-democratic government for years. The documentary deals with four fates as examples.

Aysel Tuğluk, Figen Yüksekdağ and Gülten Kışanak are democratically elected HDP politicians who were imprisoned in the wave of repression following the 2016 peace process. Sibel Yiğitalp was able to go into exile and is still campaigning for her release. The documentary impressively conveys the pressure and repression the opposition in Turkey is under, and yet they do not give up.
