Tatarak (SWEET RUSH)
At first glance, everything seems simple: Marta, the wife of a provincial doctor, falls in love with a much younger man. With him, she experiences a kind of new beginning—until he tragically drowns, and her fragile happiness comes to an end. It is not the first major tragedy in her life… Wajda, however, doesn't leave it at fiction—he breaks it into reality: Krystyna Janda steps out of character to confront the death of her husband, the cameraman Edward Kłosiński, to whom the film is dedicated. In this way, imagined and lived grief are brought together in a reflection on love and emptiness—and on how pain can be transformed into art.
