Suburbia (35mm)

Five teenage friends spend their time in a sleepy Texan town behind a supermarket. Through pointless discussions, the group falls into a self-perpetuating cycle of malaise. However, their routine is interrupted when Pony returns to town after his success as a rock star, forcing the group to question their desire to stay in suburbia and do nothing with their lives.

SUBURBIA is another gem from the great Richard Linklater. This indie film from 1996 is full of black humour and stories about depressing reality. Based on the play of the same name by Eric Bogosian, SUBURBIA successfully captures the lives of slackers in the 1990s.
