Sorry, Baby
Agnes, a young literature professor in New England, is thrown off course after a traumatic experience. While those around her carry on with their daily lives, she struggles with the feeling of being stuck. In five chapters spanning several years, the film follows her journey back to herself—supported by sharp humor and the unconditional support of her best friend.
With calm images and a keen sense of nuance, the film tells the story of the search for direction when one's life falls apart and of the immeasurable power of friendship.
SORRY, BABY is Eva Victor's powerful feature film debut – a clever and tender story about healing, friendship, and quiet self-assertion. Produced by Barry Jenkins, Adele Romanski, and Mark Ceryak (MOONLIGHT, AFTERSUN) and winner of numerous awards (including the Waldo Salt Screenwriting Award at the 2025 Sundance Film Festival), the film marks the debut of a new voice in contemporary US independent cinema – with a keen sense of quiet moments, sharp humor, and narrative clarity.
SORRY, BABY celebrated its European premiere at the Cannes Film Festival – as the closing film of the Quinzaine des Cinéastes.
