František, who has emigrated to West Berlin, loses his memory in a car accident and is reprogrammed as a spy by the secret service. Disguised as a clown, he is supposed to retrieve secret microfilms in Prague. Once there, however, he realises that his old homeland has nothing to do with the propaganda in the West. And begins to think ... This is not the last time Brynych tells of divided protagonists in a conflict of conscience.
