Smultronstället (Wilde Erdbeeren)
A journey through time: The old doctor Isak drives from Uppsala to Stockholm for an honorary appointment. He expressly prefers the car journey to the flight - he wants to gain experience. His daughter-in-law accompanies him, and three young people who want to go to Italy join him on the way. With flashbacks to his childhood and insights into the lives of other people, Ingmar Bergman gradually cures the philosophical misanthropy of his alter ego. “I realized the film as a passage through my life so far, as a thorough and final test.” In addition, Wild Strawberries is also a monument to Victor Sjöström, the father figure of Swedish cinema, who shaped Bergman's generation as a director, actor and functionary.
