SILVESTERSPECIAL: Gruber & Turnheim vertonen Pink Panther
** admission with nonstop: €45 **
Who turned the clock back? It’s New Year’s Eve again!
On this evening, the city’s oldest cinema presents the funniest silent film program in town!
PINK PANTHER POETRY
Analog film screening with live accompaniment
The animated character first appeared as an elegant jewel thief with striking pink fur in the opening credits of the crime comedy The Pink Panther in 1963. One year later, the character became the star of its own series of animated short films. Originally produced as theatrical shorts shown before feature films, the very first cartoon won an Academy Award. In the 1970s, the shorts were compiled into a children’s television series, and new films were produced. Since then, children all over the world have known and loved the Pink Panther — though in German-speaking countries, things are a little different!
Here, the rhyming narration is inseparably associated with “Paulchen Panther.” All the more surprising, then, that in the original version the Panther is neither called “Paul” nor accompanied by off-screen verses.
On this special evening, Pink Panther will be presented with a live narration, featuring newly written, humorous rhymes by silent film narrator Ralph Turnheim, accompanied by the always magnificent live music of silent film pianist Gerhard Gruber.
A relaxed and delightfully funny experience for all generations!
