Shoplifters – Familienbande

After a thieving spree on a cold winter's night, Osamu Shibata and his son Shota come across the small, neglected girl Yuri. Without further ado, Osamu does what the casual labourer does best - he "steals" Yuri and takes her home for a warm meal. His wife Nobuyo's initial concerns about the new family member quickly evaporate. Surrounded by anonymous blocks of flats, the colourful group lives happily together with the help of small scams, shoplifting and despite adverse circumstances. Until the day when an unforeseen incident reveals previously well-protected family secrets. Now it has to be proven whether these people have more in common than their existence as small-time crooks and life artists.
