Brad Pitt and Morgan Freeman teamed up in 1995 under the direction of David Fincher to play a detective duo—an old, disillusioned cop (Freeman) and a young, highly motivated officer (Pitt)—who both come to realize that their work may ultimately be in vain. Gwyneth Paltrow also plays a key supporting role in this iconic thriller, which plunges viewers into a gloomy, rain-soaked city teeming with agony and decay.
