Year2025

Duration95min.

On 5 September 1972, the tenth competition day of the Summer Olympics takes place in Munich. They were intended to send out a signal in favour of a liberal and cosmopolitan Germany. But between 4 and 5 o'clock in the morning, shots are fired in the Olympic Village. A group of Palestinian terrorists take eleven members of the Israeli team hostage. The media circus picks up speed immediately because the night shift of the US broadcaster ABC is working near the village and therefore hears the shots directly. A 21-hour ride begins for the sports journalists with uninterrupted live coverage. Geoff (John Magaro), a young and ambitious producer, wants to prove himself to his boss, the influential Roone Arledge (Peter Sarsgaard). He and the German interpreter Marianne (Leonie Benesch) take over the management of the live programme. But how is it possible to report on such a situation when that is exactly what the perpetrators want?
