Sisters Nora and Agnes meet their estranged father again—the charismatic Gustav, once a celebrated director, who offers stage actress Nora a role in the film with which he hopes to make his comeback. When Nora declines, she soon discovers that he has given her role to an ambitious young Hollywood actress. Suddenly, the two sisters find themselves forced to renegotiate their complicated relationship with their father – and deal with an American film star who has stumbled into the middle of their complex family dynamics.
