Seelenlandschaften – Der Choreograph Uwe Scholz

FromGünter Atteln

Year2007

Duration91min.

"I feel drawn to the symphonic music of the classical and romantic periods. I simply need these landscapes of the soul," explains Uwe Scholz, one of Germany's most important choreographers, who died in 2004 at the age of just 45. In his documentary, Günter Atteln presents an open, moving portrait of the sensitive and highly musical artist, whose life and work were characterized by deep despair, fears and striving for perfection. Scholz's Mozart ballet Jeunehomme celebrates its premiere in the ballet evening Les Sylphides.
