Vienna, end of the 19th century: while composer Johann Schrammel considers his Viennese songs unsuitable, his brother Josef secretly brings them to the people - with immense success. But Johann is less than enthusiastic about this intervention - and it takes the cheeky Fiakermilli to reconcile the brothers ... The audience celebrated this Austrian ‘Heimatland film’, which is peppered with a few hidden sideswipes at the Nazi regime.
